What Are Bass Guitar Chords?

Is it easy to learn bass guitar chords? What Are Bass Guitar Chords? Which comes first, the bass guitar or bass guitar chords?

First, we need to define what a bass guitar is and then we have to define what bass guitar chords are.  Generally, a bass guitar is a string instrument played with the fingers by plucking, slapping or using a pick.

The electric bass guitar is similar in construction to an electric guitar, but with longer neck and scale length.  Commonly, it has 4 strings, though some construction allows for 5 or 6 strings.  The bass guitar strings are tuned 1 octave lower than the bass strings of a guitar.

Rock, metal, blues and jazz styles of music use the bass for low-pitched bass lines and bass runs, and also as soloing instrument in jazz, fusion, Latin, funk and rock styles.  You will all learn these from practicing your bass guitar chords.

Then, let’s define chords.  Chord is a collection of tones usually played together at once, played on a guitar or any type of chromatically fretted string instrument.  So, when we say “bass guitar chords”, they’re actually guitar chord being played on a bass.
